NICEIC: What Does It Mean & Do?

NICEIC Electricians Birmingham West MidlandsNICEIC is an abbreviation that stands for National Inspection Council For Electrical Installation. The NICEIC are a voluntary organisation owned by a parent company called the Electrical Safety Council who are a registered charity. The NICEIC are not a government organisation as is often the mistake people make, they have been given power by the government along with around 5 other companies to protect people in the UK from – “unsafe and un-sound electrical work”.

The NICEIC are able to regulate the electrical installation work of the electricians that join their organisation. For an electrician to become a member of the NICEIC they have to be very electrically competent, they also have to spend large sums of money a year to maintain their membership.

The added bonus for members of the public when hiring an electrician who is NICEIC registered is the work carried out comes fully guaranteed by the NICEIC meaning should something go wrong the homeowner is protected.

The NICEIC are one of around five companies given the power by the government to see that electricians stick to current regulations (Which at the moment are Part P 17th Edition).

If you are ever wondering “how do i find a good electrician” look for the NICEIC logo and you will have found one.
