What Work Is Involved in Changing a Boiler?
There is a fair bit of work involved when having a new combination boiler installed. It isn’t always simply a case of disconnecting the old boiler and piping the new condensing boiler up: You may need to have your new boiler positioned in a new location to get a successful drain away connection for the new boilers condensate, you may also need a new copper pipe ran from your gas main to the new condensing boiler in order to fall inline with the new Gas Safe regulations.

The Boiler Guarantee.
The boiler guarantee is filled out by a Gas Safe Plumber who will send the details of the installation to the boiler manufacturer along with a copy of his Gas Safe certificate, this will ensure the boiler receives a lengthy guarantee. Boilers are graded from A-G, this rating signals the boilers efficiency level of turning purchased gas energy into heat, SEDBUK – Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers is the name of the rating system it all falls under. Letter A is the best rating with letter G being the worst. If your boiler is very old it will most likely be a G rated boiler.
The law recently changed in the UK, now when you have your old boiler replaced it must be replaced with an A rated boiler, the most efficient type. Combination boilers have become the top selling option for gas central heating in the uk, they can produce hot water instantly making them very convenient.
